Music Team Meeting

The Music Team meeting was called to order at 7pm on July 8, 2021.

The team gave their comments on how they thought our guest speaker on 6/28, Chris Burns, regarding Visual Performance went. Everyone felt it was a good presentation with important info on Visual Performance. Hopefully, when we get back live, we will be able to spend time working on this.

We went over the rehearsal schedules for July. We will continue the split sessions between Zoom/Jamulus. We will be using the section concept for Jamulus. The team felt this worked better than the double quartet concept.

We discussed plans for getting back to live rehearsals, whenever that may be. We discussed the set up for the rehearsal hall as far as chair set-up and risers are concerned. The chairs will not be set up facing the stage as in the past. They will be set up in such a way that the Membership VP will have clear view of the entrance doors for any guests that may visit. Also, risers will be set up at least once per month to be able to get back to work in performance mode. We will also be doing shot-gun voice placement at some point on the risers. We will form a Warm Up team that will handle a short (10 min.) Warm Up session each week.

We discussed, per email that Bob Karlin sent to the team, new CD's to be produced for distribution to the chorus. Bob will have the details of this in his report to the Board. Bob, Jeffery and I will be meeting to go over the songs that we feel should be on the CD's. Bob also asked the team to send him, Jeffery and I an email with up to ten songs of our current repertoire that they feel we should have on the new rep CD's.

We discussed plans for future shows as far as dates and venues are concerned. Once we know when we will be back live, we will be able to make more definite plans for future shows.

Our Chorus Manager, Jeffery Bunch, let the team know that once we know when we will be back live, he will communicate with some of the people we have done performances for to let them know we are back live and will be able to perform for them probably toward the end of the year or beginning of next year.

For the "Good of the Chapter", everyone felt we all need to hold a positive thought as to when we will be able to start rehearsing live again. Until that time, we just need to continue to keep the virtual rehearsals going as we have and hopefully keep everyone happy.
