Music Team Meeting

The Music Team Meeting was called to order at 7pm on August 12, 2021.

The Team discuss the rehearsal formats and how everyone felt they we going. Everyone felt the formats were working and we would continue with the rehearsal schedules we have in place. With the new concerns now with the virus situations, it is pretty much a plan for us to continue planning for virtual rehearsals for the time being.

I then let the Team know that the main comment I have heard about the Jamulus sessions were about the tempo of the songs. The main comment was that the individuals had difficulties with the tempo was because the leads were not in tempo with each other, therefore it was difficult to know which lead to follow. We then discussed different ways we could go about this issue in Jamulus. We came up with some suggestions we could try that hopefully would solve this and make it easier for all to follow the tempo and be able to actually hear the four part chords of the song. We will be implementing some of these ideas as we continue with Jamulus.

We discussed the possibility of having some virtual craft sessions with sections or individuals to improve the vocal quality of the chorus. Again, I reminded the Team that there are individuals available to help with any individuals that may want help making their sound better. As far as the sections are concerned, it is up the the Section Leads to work on different areas to make the unit sound improve. Please encourage individuals to contact you if they want assistance with specifics and you can meet with them whenever it is convenient for all.

Bob Karlin gave Team and update on the new CD's he would be producing for the chorus that would be available once we are back together live. He will also set up certain folders on the website that would have the different songs in different catagories.....i.e., Existing Rep/New Songs/Holiday/Patriotic.

Jeffery Bunch let the Team know that he is still communiting with contacts that we have done performances for in the past to let them know we are still singing and will let them know as soon as we are available to perform for them again. Also, it was mentioned that any chapter quartets that are available to perform, if we should get a request on our sing line, let Jeffery know so he could pass on the info to the quartet. In planning ahead, it was mentioned that we should be prepared to have various performance packages, depending on time of performance, so once we are back live we can prepare for these performances if necessary. I will contact Shelley who has the various performance package scripts we have done in the past. 

For the Good of the Chapter, everyone felt we were doing a good job keeping the Chapter/Chorus together during these trying times. It was also mentioned that Beth Karlin, Marketing & PR VP, should put something together letting other chapters in our area, that have lost members during the Pandemic, know that we are still around and going strong and if they have any interest in visiting or joining us, COME ON DOWN!!!!
