Music & Performance VP

The Music Team Meeting was called to order at 7:15pm on 12/9/21.

We discussed how the rehearsals were going. Everyone thought they were going good, liked the Warm Ups and thought we had added fun to the rehearsals. They also felt everyone was enjoying the pick-up quartets performing for us. I reminded the team that if anyone had any Warm Up ideas and wanted to give them a try at any rehearsals, just let Mark Singer and myself know ahead of time and go for it.

We had quite a long discussion regarding the Covid protocols for the chorus regarding wearing masks and letting guests attend our rehearsals. It was decided that the second rehearsal in January would be a good time to start letting guests attend our rehearsals. It was suggested that is might be a good idea to have a guest attend their first meeting via Zoom to let them see how our rehearsals are handled. If they like what they see and hear and want to return and possibly become a member, they could start attending live rehearsals. If we have a guest that we know, i.e. past members or a friend of a member, they could attend the first rehearsal in January. As far as wearing the makes are concerned, it was decided that we would continue to wear the masks until the first rehearsal in February. The team felt we would have a good idea by then of what affect the holiday period may have had regarding the virus. Of course, if any member feels uncomfortable not wearing their mask, they are welcome to continue. It was also mentioned that people have issues with hearing the chorus while wearing the masks. We don't know if the seating arrangement may be the cause of this, but we are going to try set up the hall facing different directions to see if this might help. A poll will be taken of the chorus to see what the majority feels about wearing the masks or not. Both of these subjects will be discussed by the Board and the chorus will be informed of the final decision.

Bob Karlin let the team know that he will have the last of the new CD's distributing to the chorus by the end of the year. He also again reminded us that if anyone has any problems accessing music or learning tracks on the website, to let him know immediately so he can fix the problem.

No report from the Chorus Manager

As far as the "Good of the Chapter", everyone feels we are doing a good job and keep on doing what we're doing and do whatever you can to help bring some new bodies to the fold and help the chapter grow.
