The Music Team meeting was called to order at 7:15pm on January 13, 2022
Everyone was pleased with the way the live rehearsals have been going. They feel we are working on music, having pick-up quartets perform and having fun.
I asked for input and/or suggestions as to how the team felt the format of the weekly rehearsals were going. Some members had some suggestions we could try each week to vary the format. We will implement some of these changes in February.
We discussed the current Covid situation in our community. We will continue our live rehearsals with masks for the time being. We are looking at mid-February to allow guests to join us live. Of course, all of these decisions will depend on the future of the virus statistics as we move through the months.
I brought up another subject regarding the future income for the Chapter. At this point we don't have a significant amount of income, but continue to have monthly expenses. I will approach this subject at the upcoming Board Meeting. I suggested that since Valentines Day is fast approaching, this might be an income source if we could somehow promote our singing Valentines. Therefore, as you all got the email regarding the Farmers Market in Encino, we have a chance to hopefully do a performance at this, pass out our flyers and possibly get some sales of the singing Valentines. This could possibly get the Chapter and barbershop singing known in the community and maybe get us some interested people who may like to sing with us. We have the two Sundays in January set aside for us and we will find out Monday if we have a representative chorus to do these performances.
Bob Karlin explained the CD's that he distributed over the last three weeks. He reminded everyone again that there are three new songs on the 2020 Rep CD that have not yet been presented to the chorus. I mentioned that it would be a good idea if the members would still just listen to these new songs since the music and learning tracks are available. It would save us time when we do present them and start working them.
The Chorus Manager was not present, therefore no report.
"Good of the Chapter".........pretty much everyone was pleased with what we are doing.
