VP Music & Performance-4/14/22

The Music Team Mtg. was called to order at 7pm on Thursday, 4/14/22.

The Team felt the rehearsals were still going well and we should continue working on the June 18th show songs to get them to "Performance Ready" status. This involves both individuals and the chorus.

We also discussed the current Chapter COVID Mandates and decided to keep them in place for the time being. If anyone has questions as to what these mandates are, they should check and verify with the Membership and Music & Performance VP's.

We spent a lot of time discussing rehearsals plans for the June 18th show. We will be setting up the risers for the rehearsals on May 16th & 23rd to work the show songs. This will give everyone a chance to hear the sound of the chorus from the risers. We need those who are able to arrive early on the two dates to help set up the risers so we can start rehearsals on time. The risers will  be set up in front of the stage. Everyone needs to put the time and effort into learning and getting comfortable with the songs, so we can show the audience that we are enjoying performing for them. We will have section rehearsals to work on songs we need to perfect for the show. If anyone has problems with certain songs or specific areas of songs, they should see their Section Leader.

We are set to perform at the Memorial Day services at the Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks on Monday, 5/30th. There will be a dress rehearsal on Wednesday, May 25th. We will join a few other choruses singing a couple of songs and we will be singing "Go Bless America" on our own. More details to follow.

We talked about the Encino Farmer's Market performances, and everyone felt we should continue doing them as long as we have a representative chorus. We also have one response from a school for a quartet to attend a music class and demonstrate the Barbershop style of music. All we know at this point is that it will be in August. Details to follow as soon as we get them.

We discussed some of the details of "Beautiful Dreamer II", which is the spring show planned in 2023, Warren Garfield, Director. We will hopefully have a CD of the new songs for this show sometime the end of June or beginning of July. We also discussed the possibility of having an Ice Cream Social in August. No definite plans at this point.

"Good of the Chapter"......onward and upward!!!!!!
