VP Music & Performance

The Music Team Meeting was called to order at 7:15pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

The Team discussed the new format of the rehearsals for the new year. Everyone enjoyed the new concept of adding "FUN" to the rehearsals. Therefore, at this point, we will continue this format for the time being.

The majority of the meeting was directed at the future plans for new/renew music for the chorus. We will start Teaching Quartet rehearsals on 1/22/23 and continue these rehearsals to work on the songs that we will present to the chorus around the middle or end of February. The music and learning CD's for the new music will be distributed to the chorus shortly. The Section Leaders need to make it very clear to their sections that some of music we will present will be a challenge to everyone, and will take time and effort to work the music so we can get the songs to the Performance Ready status in a reasonable amount of time. You may ask, "what is reasonable"? We're hoping everyone will surprise us at this point. It was mentioned that we need to challenge the chorus going forward. We heard you and we're doing that.

We briefly talked about our main performances this year. We are planning to have a Spring Fling/Ice Cream Social on May 13, 2023 at One Generation, and a fall show sometime late November or early December at the Hall of Liberty. Final details to follow.

Chorus Manager, Jeffery Bunch let everyone know the School Programs are still on the table and we're waiting to hear from the schools for specific dates.

"Good of the Chapter".....everyone was looking forward to a fun and exciting new year.
