The Music Team Meeting was called to order at 7:05pm on 10/12/23. Jack Press and Toni Wilson were not in attendance.
The Team went over how everyone felt the rehearsals were going. All felt things were going good and were excited to see some growth in the Chapter and look forward to doing whatever we can to continue to increase members.
The Team then discussed the final details and information regarding the Sherman Oaks Street Fair on 10/15/23. As of now, we have an idea of where the location of the Chapter spot will be. We won't know until Sunday morning the exact location. Tom will notify members the exact spot(number)when he checks in on Sunday morning. We're hoping we have good attendance at this event. We are doing this mainly as a recruiting tool, and hoping to get some interest in getting some new members. The fair hours are from 10am-6pm. We will be singing on the Community Stage at 3pm. Our call time for this will be 2:30pm. All members have received Marching Orders at this time with details.
We discussed the Crescenta Valley merger. At this time, all paperwork has been submitted to our Chapter and the BHS. We have ended up with two new members from this merger.
We talked about the request from our prospective member, Jesse(bari), regarding his rep song choice for his audition. Mark Wolf, Bari Section Leader, will follow through with this and keep the team informed.
Bob Karlin let the Team know about the latest information regarding the "Winter Wonderland" show on 12/2/23. Everything is on track at this point. He's hoping to have flyers, tickets and show song lists for all, before he goes on vacation later this month. He also mentioned he would like to have the risers set up for all rehearsals in November to get the chorus use to performing from the risers. That means everyone would have to be off paper on all songs. The songs we've been working on for the last couple of months are all songs we will be doing in the show.
Jeffery Bunch, Chorus Manager, has been in touch with contacts from places we have done sing-outs for in the past to let them know that we are available to entertain them whenever they want. Hopefully we will hear from these places soon.
