VP Music & Performance-4/4/24

The Music Team Meeting was called to order at 7:03pm on 4/4/24. Members present, Tom Raffety, Jeffery Bunch, Bob Karlin, Toni Wilson and Mark Wolf. Those absent were Ron Malkin and Jack Press.

Received comments from the Team as how they felt the warm up sessions were going. All thought Jeffery was doing a good job using some parts of the songs we would be going over that particular night.

Had a short discussion about the process of trying to put together more chapter quartets with members who have made it clear that they wanted to sing in quartets. Because of member absences, mainly those interested in singing in quartets, this has pretty much been put on hold for the time being.

The USB Flash Drive recording devices that we were hoping to distribute to members last month, was postponed due to technical reasons. We have now received new devices and hopefully will be passed out at the rehearsal on 4/15/24. The info on how to use these will be explained and will also be on the website.

We discussed final plans for the Spring Fling/Ice Cream Social on 5/18. Bob will be talking to members about helping out at the function. Marching orders will be sent shortly with all info necessary for the day. Tickets will be available shortly, and they can also be purchased via the website. SELL, SELL, SELL!!!!!!  We also discussed changes regarding future Spring/Fall show formats and what is best for the chorus and our audiences. Keep in mind, no matter what we do or what changes are made, we will never please everyone. For those chorus members who don't agree with some things, the best way to makes changes is to volunteer and help plan the shows. Believe me, your help would be appreciated.

I received an email from Gloria Hillard, Director of the choruses at the Pierce Brother Valley Oaks, Westlake Village, Memorial Day Services. I will take a poll of the chorus on 4/15/24, and explain the program to all, to see if we have enough members to attend.

Good of the Chapter......please do whatever you can to try and get us more performances. Get our name out there in the community. Once the weather gets a little warmer, we will be returning to the Encino Farmers Market for our Sunday performances.
