MUSIC TEAM REPORT-11/12/20

Discussed Breakout Rooms. Section Leaders gave their comments as to how they felt the Breakout Rooms were going, if they felt they were being effective and if the individuals liked the process. All felt they were going very well and that the individuals were learning their music at a faster pace and enjoyed the comments from the Section Leaders. I told the team I felt this was also building each individuals confidence in their singing abilities. Therefore we will continue with the Breakout Rooms.

I brought up the point that we needed to put in place a process for handling guests we find on MeetUp that would like to attend our virtual rehearsals. I suggested this be the responsibility of the Membership VP initially with the guest and "what happens" after that. I feel we have lost some prospective guests because we don't have a process in place. This will be on the agenda for the upcoming Board Meeting.

Jeffery and I attended the FWD Directors Guild Zoom meeting on 11/8. Jeffery let everyone know what was discussed in the meeting. This is the first meeting of this group in a while. Hopefully these will happen on a quarterly basis now. Jeffery let the team know that the Chapters/Choruses in attendance talked about what they have been doing during the pandemic. Most of the Directors and Presidents present are doing the Zoom virtual rehearsals like we are, but unfortunately there are Chapters that are doing nothing, and they are losing members. There are Chapters who are trying out different things to be able to sing together and hear the harmonies that we all are missing. But, some of these things are costly and the smaller chapters are not in the position to explore these options.

Bob Karlin gave the team an update on Website Procedures and what's coming up as far as Member Accss to these new features. He also explained to the team the Proposed music release, schdule of same and testing procedures. The team discussed the different areas of this process, how they feel about it, what will work, etc. No definite decisions were made at this time. We will discuss again at the December meeting and bring to the Board at that time. Also, it was again mentioned that a lot of time and effort has been put into the new website, and it is there for your benefit. Please take advantage of what it has to offer.

I ask for "Good of the Chapter" comments from those present and most felt that the Chapter/Chorus has been going in the right direction, and to continue what we're doing. I also mentioned that I have been in contact with Mark Singer, VP Program, of different ideas for things to do at rehearsals for programs.

All members of the Music Team were present.
