PROGRAM VICE-PRESIDENT REPORT OF 2/17/21
On January 25, 2021 Rob Mance, made a presentation via Zoom from approximately 7:30pm to 8:30pm regarding vocal technique and other related issues. The presentation was well-received by our director and the chorus members.
Dr. Mance has been contacted regarding other areas that can be discussed. He has suggested one possibility, what he has described as "voice lessons under glass." He said that this has been very popular with other choruses. In such a case, 4 or 5 singers from the chorus are chosen. One after the other, he would do a mini voice lesson with each of them – about 10 minutes each. He would leave time for some questions at the end as well. This would tie in with the concept that he had discussed of "making the individual a little bit better so that the ensemble gets a lot better".
On February 15, 2021, Katie McDonald Recruitment and Retention Manager of the Barbershop Harmony Society had been scheduled to discuss virtual recruitment and retention tips. Unfortunately, she had to cancel her presentation due to personal issues. We are in the process of rescheduling her presentation to a mutually convenient time.
